Project manager service – case VR Group

An experienced project manager to lead an intranet project

case VR

We chose the Microsoft Office 365 Sharepoint Online platform for our new intranet system. Solu Digital provided project manager for us; we knew that we needed someone with strong SharePoint expertise as a project leader, as we lacked such expertise in-house.

The role of the intranet increased

Solu Digital’s Project Manager deserves special thanks for his project management skills and his SharePoint expertise

Building an intranet is a big effort for such a large organization as ours, and involves a myriad of both technological and content-related issues.

Previously, intranet reached only a part of our staff. With cloud-based intranet our field staff can log into the workspace too, which increased the role of our intranet a lot.

Careful defining of roles crucial for success

All in all, the project was a success. Solu Digital’s Project Manager deserves special thanks for his project management skills and his SharePoint expertise. He also contributed to the dialogue between our Communications department and IT-department, for he understood both worlds.

When a project involves multiple partners, a clear definition of roles and responsibilities is essential. It is also important to consider what kind of expertise is needed: do you need a specialist on certain area or rather an experienced manager, who can understands the big picture and keeps the schedule and costs under control. In addition, of course, the project manager must be enthusiastic over his cause and strive to complete the project successfully.
