We started working with Solu Digital in February 2013. The company was chosen as our intranet supplier because of the modularity and clear pricing of the products; it means that new features and functions can be introduced seamlessly as required.

A key objective was to provide an effective and comprehensive internal messaging system to our personnel; when the work is done in three shifts, it is vital that information flows efficiently and procedures are consistent. Employees must feel that they can communicate effectively with their superiors even when they are not on the same shift.

Overall, the new intranet has brought many positive changes to the way we work; it has unified our corporate culture and the best practices have been introduced throughout the organization.

There are several social features available, of which we actively use blogs and different queries. They provide two-way communication even when the work is done in different locations or in different shifts.

In our industry operations are audited continuously. We have received a lot of positive feedback on, among other things, that the different guidelines are now clearly documented.

Modular design gives flexibility

Next we will develop our reporting as well as our contracts and document management. At the moment we are considering Solu Digital’s Business Intelligence products. Transition to Microsoft-based BI products attracts also because shedding unnecessary licenses would bring significant cost savings. In the future we may also add some features of Solu Digital’s Voima and Virta modules to our service package, such as intranet project portfolios and workspaces.
